Dontrell Gilmore, M.A.

Dontrell “Donnie” Gilmore, M.A. is a counseling professional working toward licensure and a Ph.D. student in Counselor Education & Supervision at Old Dominion University. He integrates evidence-based approaches with a warm, culturally responsive, and faith-informed style to

support individuals, couples, and families.
 

Donnie’s clinical interests include anxiety, stress, grief, trauma-related concerns, identity development, relationship challenges, sexual addictions, and the unique mental-health experiences of Black men. He is committed to helping clients build insight, strengthen resilience,

and pursue meaningful change.
 

Before entering the counseling profession, Donnie worked in IT. After undergoing open-heart surgery, he felt called to pursue a path aligned more deeply with his purpose of serving others through emotional, relational, and spiritual healing.
